Navigating your child's mental health

This is an in-person event. Venue details will be provided upon registration (Caulfield location).

In this not-to-be-missed session, global mental health advocate Rabbi Shalom Hammer will empower parents and carers to step in to the challenging conversations that can make a real difference in a young person's life. Drawing on his own lived experience as a parent bereaved by suicide, Rabbi Hammer will explore common crisis warning signs, the importance of challenging mental health stigma, and practical information and skills to support a loved one.

About the presenter

Rabbi Shalom Hammer is a dedicated educator, speaker and author. Since the tragic loss of his daughter Gila z"l to suicide in 2019, he has worked tirelessly to raise awareness of mental health and the importance of suicide prevention, channelling his grief into action through the founding of mental health charity Gila's Way. Alongside this vital work, Rabbi Hammer also served as a lecturer and educator for the Israel Defence Forces.
