Social Work Support
Our support is not ‘one-size-fits-all’. We focus on providing a compassionate and culturally safe response that is tailored to your unique needs and circumstances. We will talk with you to understand what is happening in your life and work together to find the way forward. We work in a way that is person-centred and collaborative: essentially, you are in the driver’s seat.
We understand that reaching out can be hard, and that many in our community may experience feelings of shame or embarrassment when asking for help. We pride ourselves on providing safe and non-judgemental support that is sensitive to the cultural and religious needs of our community.
If you or someone you know is in need of assistance or counselling support, please contact (03) 8517 5999 to speak to one of our social workers.
We work with people of all ages. Our social work services are free, confidential, and available to any individual or family in the Victorian Jewish community experiencing significant challenges, including:
- Family violence
- Child well-being or safety concerns
- Homelessness
- Poverty and disadvantage
- Mental ill health
- Physical illness or disability
- Use of alcohol or substances
- Support with parenting.
We have relationships with a range of service providers both within and beyond the Jewish community and can work together to coordinate a response that best meets you and your family’s needs.
We also provide consultation, guidance and advice to community leaders, professionals and other service providers.
