Adjunct Associate Professor Gayle Smith was appointed as Chief Executive in December 2024.
Gayle has great passion and commitment to Jewish Care, our residents and clients, staff, volunteers and the community that we serve. Gayle’s focus on Jewish Care’s organisational values and providing excellent care and support will ensure Jewish Care continues to meet the needs of our community.
Gayle will focus on key priorities, including partnering with the Jewish community and other service providers to ensure we provide a great experience for our residents and clients and attract and retain the best staff. These priorities include the continuous improvement and growth of our Aged Care, Disability and Social Services to meet the current and emerging needs of the Jewish community. Gayle is committed to working with all teams across Jewish Care and our partners and other service providers across the community to enable our future success and ability to sustainably deliver on our mission.
Gayle’s professional background spans executive leadership in the health and community sector, clinical care, strategy development and deployment, service improvement, clinical governance, risk management, client experience, professional leadership in allied health and innovation within both public and not-for-profit sectors.
Originally qualifying as an Occupational Therapist, Gayle has a Graduate Diploma in Business, a Master of Business in Health Administration and a Professional Certificate in Health Systems Management. She is committed to ensuring we can provide the best experience for our residents and clients, their families and our staff by focusing on quality, safety and continuous improvement and is a highly regarded leader in the health and community sector.
