Jewish Care Victoria is thrilled to announce that Jackson Clements Burrows Architects have won the Sir Osborn McCutcheon Award at the recently held Australian Institute of Architects Victorian Awards, for the design of The Coppel & Piekarski Family Disability Respite Centre.
This ‘named award’ is the highest accolade in its category (Commercial Architecture) to be won in Victoria.
The state-of-the-art Coppel & Piekarski Family Disability Respite Centre in Caulfield opened in March 2016, the first project of six to be completed as part of Jewish Care’s Capital Campaign, Growing. For our community.
Jackson Clements Burrows Architects Director, Graham Burrows said: “I am delighted that the Disability Respite Centre received this award. It is a project that I am incredibly proud of and the outcome is testament to the hard work and dedication of all involved in the project. This has always felt like a real team effort and the early workshops we undertook to establish the direction were a truly collaborative process.”
“I am inspired by the depth of generosity that has been shown by the many donors who have helped to bring this vision to life. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a supportive community which is true to its principles of looking after one another. We have set a very powerful example of how we can all work together to achieve great outcomes,” Jewish Care CEO, Bill Appleby said.
“I congratulate Jackson Clements Burrows Architects who were a pleasure to work with in the co-design of what is a really unique facility, that supports many families in our community to have a brighter future,” Mr Appleby added.
The Coppel & Piekarski Family Disability Respite Centre is located at 476-478 Glen Eira Road, Caulfield.
