About the Role

Beis Efraim College [t/a Divrei Emineh School] seeks expressions of interest for a Yiddish speaking ICT teacher able to teach students of a Chassidic background in our primary school.

Interested applicants must:

  • Be knowledgeable with all practices and obligations of a Chassidic Jewish lifestyle.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of Chassidic values, ethics and philosophy.
  • Respect a Chassidic lifestyle and Chassidic practices.

Key Duties of the Position

  • To facilitate teaching and learning in a bi-lingual Yiddish and English classroom and school.
  • To deliver the stated integrated curriculum as required by the college in the area of ICT and digital technologies.
  • To monitor and evaluate student learning and progress.
  • To support, analyse and assist student learning, both individually and in groups.
  • To evaluate and report on students' learning development to college leadership and parents.
  • To maintain a high level of "duty of care" towards all students.
  • To conduct all interaction with students and parents with professionalism.

Qualifications/Skills Required

Key Selection Criteria

  • Fluency in Yiddish and English (in reading, writing and speaking).
  • Demonstrate capability in classroom management
  • Display respectful and respectable conduct to both parents and students.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development as a member of the college's teaching team and show a firm commitment to the fundamental value of personal development.

Qualifications Required

  • Certificate III or higher in the area of ICT, programming experience preferred
  • Current VIT registration preferred, but interested applicants should apply for PTT consideration as a possible pathway to earn VIT registration.
