We know that families today can experience a range of stressors and challenges – which in turn can have impacts on children and young people. Jewish Care works in partnership with parents, carers and families to ensure that children and young people are safe, connected and thriving.
As an Integrated Family Services provider, we work directly with parents and families who are experiencing difficulty and would like support around parenting, relationship issues, or other family matters.
We are the Jewish community’s direct entry point to The Orange Door. The Orange Door is the central referral point for community-based family services and other local supports. As part of The Orange Door, in addition to our own services, we can connect parents and families with broader supports to meet their needs. We also work in partnership with Jewish schools, early learning centres and youth movements, and deliver a range of parent education and support programs.
We are deeply committed to the prevention of harm to children and the provision of support for victims of child abuse and neglect, both past and present. To survivors of abuse: we see you; we believe you; and we stand with you.
We know that keeping children safe is a whole-of-community endeavour. Our social workers can provide targeted assessment, advice, consultation and guidance to individual community members, leaders, schools, organisations and other professionals about:
- Responding to concerns about child abuse or neglect
- Making a report to Child Protection
- Other support and safety options.
If you would like support with parenting or family issues, or want to talk about concerns relating to the safety or wellbeing of a child or young person, please reach out. Contact the Front Door on 8517 5999.
