The Board appoints Gayle Smith as the Chief Executive

The Board of Jewish Care Victoria is delighted to announce the appointment of Gayle Smith as the Chief Executive, effective immediately. 

Gayle has great passion and commitment to Jewish Care, our residents and clients, our staff and volunteers and the community that we serve. Gayle’s focus on Jewish Care’s organisational values and ensuring excellent care and support for our community will ensure Jewish Care continues to be at the heart of our community. 

Gayle was appointed Interim Chief Executive on 4 March 2024 and, over this year, has worked tirelessly with the Board to lead the Better Together Transformation Program for Jewish Care. This program ensures Jewish Care is set up for the next successful chapter in its long and proud history. 

Gayle has and will continue to focus on key priorities, including reconfiguration and growth of our services in aged care, disability and social services, improving the operational systems, establishing a new organisational structure and Executive Leadership Team. These are now well underway and we know Gayle is looking forward to continuing this program of work with all teams across Jewish Care, to ensure our organisation’s future success and ability to deliver sustainably of our mission.
