20 July 2021
The Victorian Government has today announced that the current statewide lockdown measures will be extended by seven days until 11:59pm on Tuesday 27 July 2021.
The safety of our elders, clients, staff, and community, and that of the wider Australian community, is our highest priority. Please continue to wear your masks, keep your distance and most importantly, get vaccinated.
We remind our community to continue to monitor exposure sites regularly (Public exposure sites | Coronavirus Victoria) and if you have been to an exposure site, or if you or someone close to you becomes unwell, isolate and get tested immediately.
Visitation to all Jewish Care Residential Homes has been restricted and some group-based services have been suspended temporarily. Elder engagement activities continue and despite visitor restrictions to homes, we continue to support elders and their loved ones to connect virtually.
Jewish Care will continue to closely monitor the situation as further health announcements are made and update protocols and our community accordingly.
“We understand that the uncertainty around these snap lockdowns is difficult and remind our community that Jewish Care is here to support you,” said Bill Appleby, Chief Executive Officer. “For some of us, it gets easier each time; but for others, it only gets harder. We encourage members of our community who have been negatively impacted by the restrictions or the coronavirus to contact the Jewish Care COVID-19 Helpline.”
Call 8517 5555 (Monday – Friday, between 9:00am – 5:00pm).
The Jewish Care Victoria COVID-19 Helpline is here to assist and support those in the Victorian Jewish community impacted by the coronavirus.
