15 August 2021
The safety of our elders, clients, staff and community and that of the wider Australian community is our highest priority. The Victorian Government has announced Victoria will enter a five (5) day lockdown as of 11:59pm on 15 July 2021.
We remind our community how vital it is to protect themselves, their families, friends, and the greater community. Please follow the rules. Please get tested if you have signs or symptoms or have been in an exposure site. Please wear your masks, keep your distance and most importantly, get vaccinated.
“If you have been to an exposure site or become unwell, or someone close to you becomes unwell, you must isolate and get tested immediately,” said, Bill Appleby, Chief Executive Officer.
Visitation to all Jewish Care residential homes has been restricted effective immediately and some services have been impacted or cancelled. Impacted community members will be contacted directly. The situation will be constantly reviewed as further health announcements are made and protocols updated accordingly.
Please regularly review the Victorian Government’s case locations and outbreaks listings: https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/exposure-sites
We understand that these restrictions are difficult and remind our community that Jewish Care is here to support you.
The Jewish Care Victoria COVID-19 Helpline is here to assist and support those in the Victorian Jewish community impacted by the coronavirus.
