About the Role

Yeshivah - Beth Rivkah Colleges is an Independent Jewish School based in St Kilda East, Melbourne. It’s made up of two Primary and Secondary Schools (Boys only and Girls only), a highly respected Early Learning Centre and a Creche.

We are an Orthodox Jewish school and our unique core values are based around work life balance. We guide the child's educational journey with care and commitment. Operating in line with the ethos and values of Chabad we foster a strong sense of community and support the personal growth and academic achievement of each student. With a focus on both Jewish and General studies, we provide an environment that is both enriching and nurturing.

Our Girls' Secondary School is currently looking for an exceptional Secondary Humanities Teacher. This is a permanent, part-time position.

In a nutshell the role entails the usual key teaching responsibilities focusing on Humanities:

  • Planning and implementation of a curriculum of teaching programs or courses of study using a range of teaching techniques and materials
  • Planning, implementing and marking a variety of assessment tasks to monitor students’ progress
  • Implementation of strategies to achieve targets related to student learning outcomes
  • Maintenance of records of class attendance and recording of student progress
  • Liaison with students and parents
  • Implementation of effective student management strategies consistent with the school’s behaviour management plan
  • Attendance at regular staff and curriculum planning meetings
  • Provide supervision of students during recess, as timetabled

Qualifications/Skills Required

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in Education (Bachelor degree or higher)
  • Current VIT registration
  • Comfort and experience in teaching Secondary level relevant curriculum in Humanities
  • High level of attention to detail and empathy to be able to pivot to the students' needs
